The best way to determine if a specific food is causing an adverse health effect is through the elimination diet. The process is straight-forward. By temporarily removing common food offenders from your diet, you allow your body time to heal.
The main reason for doing an elimination diet is to pinpoint which foods could be irritating your body and triggering uncomfortable symptoms. This period is followed by introducing foods back in slowly and strategically in order to determine which foods are tolerated and which are not.

Is It An Allergy?
When it comes to allergens, most of us are familiar with the top offenders, dust, pet dander, and seasonal allergies, but have you considered food? More than 170 foods have been reported to cause allergic reactions, and it’s estimated that about four percent of the adult population suffer from food allergies.
Food allergies trigger an immune response causing symptoms that can range from mild- itchy mouth and hives, to severe- throat tightening and difficulty breathing. If you have a severe food allergy, you’re likely already aware of it. However, if you have a sensitivity or intolerance, symptoms may be so mild you don’t realize they are caused by something you eat.
Food intolerances or sensitivities don’t always show up on allergy tests, so it can be difficult to diagnose them officially - sometimes the only way to find out that you have intolerance is to opt in to an elimination diet.
My goal is to help you begin the process of an elimination diet. During this focus group, you’ll have a unique opportunity to go through the experience with others just like you!
